That evening, Grandpa's garden shed became a castle. And Mia became Princess Mia.

Grandpa: Your Majesty, the moon is coming up. The whole kingdom must go to bed.

Mia: The whole kingdom? Even the royal dog?

Coconut: Especially not the royal dog! I am not sleepy at all!

How does Princess Mia start bedtime?

  • Ring the royal bedtime bellThis time
  • Hold a royal yawning contest

Ding-a-ling! Mia rang the royal bedtime bell, loud and clear across the kingdom.

Mia: Hear ye, hear ye! Bedtime for everybody in the kingdom!

Coconut: Oh no. When the royal bell rings, the royal dog must listen. That's the rule.

As the bell stopped ringing, Mia reached up to straighten her crown.

Mia: My crown! It's gone! A princess can't go to bed without her crown!

Grandpa: Hmm. I think someone in this kingdom knows where it is.

How does Mia find her crown?

  • Follow the muddy paw printsThis time
  • Ask the royal frog

Little paw prints went across the grass, around the roses, and stopped at the flower bed.

Coconut: I was keeping it safe! Underground. Where crowns like to sleep.

Mia: Oh, Coconut. Thank you for looking after it. Can I have it back now?

Mia brushed off the soil and put her crown back on.

Grandpa: Look, Your Majesty. The moon is up. Time to say goodnight to your kingdom.

Mia: Goodnight, kingdom. But how does a princess say goodnight?

How does Princess Mia say goodnight?

  • Give everyone a royal hugThis time
  • Wave a grand royal wave

Mia hugged Coconut. She hugged Grandpa. She gave Sir Hopsworth a very gentle pat.

Sir Hopsworth: Most kind, Your Majesty. Most kind indeed.

Coconut: Princess hugs are the best hugs in the whole kingdom.

Full of royal hugs, the princess went inside and climbed into bed.

Mia hung her crown on the bedpost. Coconut curled up right beside her.

Mia: Goodnight, royal dog. You're the best dog in the whole kingdom.

Coconut: Goodnight, Princess. Even royal dogs need their sleep.

What it's about

A good princess looks after everyone in her kingdom, even the smallest.
