One of the ways tonight can go. Play it above to make different choices.

It was bedtime. But Leo was still on the floor, playing with his wooden train.

Dad: Last stop, Leo. The train goes in the station, and Leo goes in bed.

Leo: But I'm not sleepy, Dad. Not even a tiny bit.

Then the little train whistled. Toot toot! And it began to grow.

Who drives the night train?

  • Leo drives the trainThis time
  • Let Rexy drive the train

Leo climbed into the engine. He pulled the whistle. Toot toot! The night train began to roll.

Leo: All aboard! Next stop, wherever sleepy things go!

Rexy: Not too fast, Driver Leo. I'm a very small passenger.

Driver Leo steered the night train out of the window and up into the sky.

Rexy: Leo! Look! The track goes all the way up to the stars!

Leo: There are two stations up there. Which one should we visit?

Where does the night train stop?

  • Stop at the Moon StationThis time
  • Stop at the Cloud Station

The night train stopped at the Moon Station. It was quiet, and silvery, and soft.

Leo: Shhh, Rexy. Everyone on the moon is already asleep.

Rexy: The moon is so sleepy, it's making me sleepy too.

Very quietly, the night train slipped away from the moon.

Rexy: Leo? Where is the very last stop?

Leo: The last stop is the best one. My bed!

How does the night train say goodnight?

  • Ring the bell very softlyThis time
  • Toot the whistle just once

The night train glided back through the window. Leo rang the bell, very, very softly.

Leo: Ding. Ding. Shhh. Everyone's sleeping.

Rexy: That's the gentlest bell I ever heard.

As the bell went quiet, the night train shrank back to its tiny size.

Leo climbed into bed. Rexy snuggled beside him. The little train rested in its station.

Leo: Goodnight, night train. See you tomorrow.

Rexy: Next time... can we go... even further?
